With our upcoming book, Eureka: 501 Adventure Plots to Inspire Game Masters, now at the printer, preorders are right around the corner — so it’s time for our nest-to-last preview!
Last week was entirely given over to finishing the book, so I never got time to post our fourth sample — sorry about that! The first three samples (all available as free PDF downloads on Eureka’s product page covered fantasy plots, sci-fi plots, and GMing advice, so for number four we have a change of pace: artwork!
We were lucky enough to work with six incredibly talented artists on Eureka: Laine Garrett, Darren Hardy, Avery Liell-Kok, Andrew McIntosh, Philip Miller, and Hugo Solis, with our art director, John Arcadian, at the helm.
You’ve seen Darren’s artwork: In addition to being our graphic designer and turning out a gorgeous book, he also created the border art that appears throughout the book, with different borders for each section. You’ve also seen Eureka’s outstanding cover, which was illustrated by Andrew McIntosh and designed by Darren Hardy.
What you haven’t seen is much in the way of Eureka’s interior art, and it rocks hard. I’ll let the pieces below — one from each of our interior artists — speak for themselves.
Next up will be our final Eureka sample: horror adventure plots.

That’s not because I don’t think you’ll be interested in them: You, Gnome Stew readers, are the core audience for this book — we wrote it because we think lots of GMs will get great mileage out of this book. It’s because I want to keep the Stew true to its mission, providing the best system-neutral GMing material around, rather than turn it into a Eureka marketing machine.
