Ran the WW D&D game. I had a blast with a good group, but the second session I ran had no takers (and since I live in the Heartland of Gaming, Wisconsin, I was a bit blue afterwards). But we had a lot of fun. From watching the party panicking as their second winds got used up quickly against some animate statues, to watching a first-time player fist-pumping as he rolled a crucial critical against the white dragon in the second half, it was a good time. I'm currently in the process of writing a gnome-featured silly-themed adventure for 4th Edition called "Against the Gnomes", where the gnomes are sick of being abused and ignored in every campaign world, and decide to do something about it, the no-PC thing being the straw that broke the camel's back. I hope it turns out well. (Think about it, gnome villages full of graffiti like "Tieflings suck!" or "Dragonborn - making new boots since a few days ago!" Fun times!)

Alysia and I actually did go see Kung Fu Panda on Sunday, and it was excellent. I highly recommend it.

I'm itching for a swashbuckling game, and Iron Heroes is currently fulfilling my need for d20-style crunchiness, so I think I'll sit this one out for a while. I fell out of love with D&D when I discovered tri-stat, and while I'm willing to give 4e a chance, I'm not getting excited until the dice start rolling.

I’ll be sitting back and enjoying the spectacle of ten thousands (if not more) of 6-feet-tall 4-year-olds finally getting their hands on that very first present at Christmas. I’ll be the grandpa of the DM-ing family sitting back in his rocking chair, enjoying everyone else enjoying themselves .

As for me, I don’t plan to buy the 4e books (especially not since I’m an avid fan of the Paizo Pathfinder products, and I have enough 3.5 material to last me four lifetimes), but I’m willing to sit in on a game and see how it plays.

almost bought it last night at my FLGS (they were open at midnight), but i'm holding out until saturday instead. i'm still in the middle of my 3.5 eberron campaign, so i don't think i'll be starting 4e right away.

I asked/volunteered at the local game store-- but while they'll be playing 4e, they're not doing any demoing or showing it off. I thought it was strange, but I suspect they just didn't sign up to get the demo adventure. [Our local RPGA group at the library is playing tomorrow, but I think I'll leave them to it.] Tonight I run our 3.5 game as normal. Tonight the PCs at my table face a gnomish ninja attack! (Yes, seriously.)

I know! I'm totally psyched about Kung-fu Panda! The wife and I are taking teh Wooglet to see it tomorrow! I can't wait! I'm a little miffed that one of their toy commercials calls an accessory that's CLEARLY a longbow a crossbow, but hey, I'll froth about that more later. Here's some 4E gnome good news. Mmm, mint juleps. But I'm in San Antonio, so it's more likely to be margaritas... I want to play tomorrow, but I haven't reserved a spot anywhere. My v.3.5 game is on Sunday afternoon, so I haven't decided if I want it to be an all-D&D weekend. Okay, I want it to be, but my marriage may not survive. : P

Starting this morning, 24 hours of D&D at the FLGS, finishing at 10 am Saturday. At 10 am Saturday, Game Day starts, where I will be GMing.

I don't play D&D, so I have no plans to play and/or run 4E at this time. If the system lives up to the hype though I will check it out. It might be the D&D that brings me back into the fold...

Mint juleps for me. If I hear something utterly fantastic about 4e I might buy it, but otherwise... it's not that I hate the idea of the new edition; I'm just apathetic.
